Cylindrical & Internal Grinding

Cylindrical grinding

Ensure high quality and precision grinding with Murbek Engineering.

We are able to grind components from 3mm in diameter, up to 508mm in diameter x 2133mm long.

Your items are usually ground between centres, however we can accommodate special components by utilising faceplates, 3 for 4 jaw chucks and special jigs/fixtures.

We regularly grind components with tolerances of 0.012mm (0.00052) and smaller.

Internal grinding

Murbek Engineering are able to grind internal diameters on components of up to 256mm outside diameter x 1200mm long, utilising one of our universal grinding machines with swing down internal head.

Alternatively, we are able to grind components of up to 610mm outside diameter x 305 bore depth, utilising one of our specialist Churchill bore grinding machines.

Surface Grinding

Murbek Engineering is able to surface grind flat and angled components, from small tool room precision items up to a maximum of 1800mm long x 406mm wide to include both fine finish grinding on one of our Snow horizontal spindle machines or rough grinding / heavy stock removal on one of our Snow verticle spindle segmental machines.

Additionally we can rotary surface grind components upto 600mm in diameter on one of our Churchill rotary surface grinding machines

Blades & Knives

Blades and knives

Murbek Engineering Ltd have full manufacturing capabilities for all types of hardened tool steel and hard faced flat, bevelled and circular blades / knives upto 1800mm in length or 600mm in diameter.

Regrinding

We can collect, sharpen and return as new all types of industrial blades, knives and cutters.

Total Service

Due to increasing demand, we are now able to offer a full blade regrinding, setting and fitting service.

With many years industrial maintenance experience, our fitters now have considerable experience in fitting and setting of blades to machines such as Cumberland, Tria, Herbold etc
